Strings Audition Information 

Strings (BM)

Audition/recorded material not to exceed 20 minutes in length.

Violin, Viola, & cello  

l  Ascending and descending three-octave scale of your choice (one note to a bow and four notes to a bow) 

l  A solo etude (study)

l  One movement from a concerto, sonata, or a short concert piece 

Double Bass 

l  Ascending and descending 2 octave scale of your choice (1 note to a bow and 4 notes to a bow), A solo etude (study), 

l  An orchestral excerpt

l  A representative concert piece.
