Woodwinds Audition Information

Bassoon (BM)

Live Audition Repertoire

l  Weber - Concerto in F Major

l  Any Vivaldi concerto

l  Hindemith - Sonata

l  Telemann - Sonata in F minor.

l  All major and minor scales.

▶Please note that the works listed are only suggested pieces; any standard work of comparable quality is acceptable.

▶There is no memory requirement.

▶The instrumentalist should prepare 10-15 minutes of music.

Clarinet (BM)

Live Audition Repertoire

l  Weber - Concerto No. 1 mvt. I or III

l  Mozart - Concerto mvts. I and II or mvts. II and III, Osborne - Rhapsody

l  Jacob – Five Pieces. All major and minor scales. Please note that the works listed are only suggested pieces

▶Any standard work of comparable quality is acceptable.

▶There is no memory requirement.

▶The instrumentalist should prepare 10-15 minutes of music.

Flute (BM)

Live Audition Repertoire

l  J. S. Bach - any sonata; Poulenc - Sonata

l  Hindemith - Sonata

l  Mozart - Concerto in G or D

l  Griffes - Poem

l  Any Paris Conservatory piece.

l  All major and minor scales.

Oboe(BM)

l  One slow and one fast etude from the collection of 48 Etudes

l  Op. 31 by W. Fehrling, and two contrasting movements of major repertoire in addition to major and minor scales.

l  There is no memory requirement.

l  The instrumentalist should prepare 10-15 minutes of music.

Saxophone (BM)

l  Boutry - Divertimento

l  Orrego - Salas - Quattro Liriche

l  Muczynski - Concerto

l  Ibert - Concertino da Camera.

▶Recorded auditions submitted for saxophone must be video.
