Scholarship
Consideration
Students who audition after February 9, 2019 will
not be eligible for merit scholarship consideration.

Trumpet (BM)
- One complete solo trumpet work from standard
literature (ex. Arutunian) or one movement from a sonata or concerto
- One contrasting etude of choice
- Display proficiency in all major and minor
scales
- Demonstrate the ability to sight-read

Trombone (BM)
Tenor Trombone:
- One complete movement from a standard
concerto for trombone (e.g., Grondahl, Hindemith)
- Two etudes of contrasting style (i.e.,
technical and lyrical)
- Major and minor scales
- Sight-reading
Bass Trombone:
- One complete movement from a standard
concerto for bass trombone (e.g., Ewazen, Lebedev)
- Two etudes of contrasting style (i.e.,
technical and lyrical)
- Major and minor scales
- Sight-reading

Horn (BM)
- Two contrasting works or movements from
standard repertoire (Mozart, Strauss, etc.)
- Two standard orchestral excerpts of
your choice
- Major and minor scales
- Sight-reading

Euphonium (BM)
- Two contrasting sections from a standard
solo (Curnow, DeLuca, etc.)
- One etude from Rochut Melodious etudes
- Two standard band excerpts of your choice
- All major scales

Tuba (BM)
- Two contrasting sections from a standard
solo (Hindemith, Lebedev, Broughton, etc.)
- One etude from a standard method for tuba
(Blazhevich, Rochut, Vasiliev, etc.)
- Two standard orchestral excerpts of your
choice
- All major scales
- Demonstrate the ability to sight-read
