GPD and DMA Audition Repertoire
A pre-screening
video is required.
Solo
Selections for Pre-Screening:
- A major work for either marimba or
vibraphone
- One piece from Elliott Carter’s Eight Pieces
for Four Timpani
- A solo piece for multiple percussion
- An étude for snare drum
GLOCKENSPIEL
- Two excerpts from the standard orchestral
repertoire
MARIMBA
- A major work for either marimba or
vibraphone
- A movement from a cello suite or violin
sonata or partita by J.S. Bach
- Sight reading will be required
MULTIPLE-PERCUSSION
- A solo piece for multiple percussion (7-15
min duration)
SNARE DRUM
- One etude from either Cirone’s Portraits
in Rhythm or Delecluse’s Douze Etudes
- Two excerpts from the standard orchestral
repertoire
TIMPANI
- One solo from Elliott Carter’s Eight Pieces
for Four Timpani.
- Two excerpts from the standard orchestral
repertoire
XYLOPHONE
- Two excerpts from the standard orchestral
repertoire
ARTIST DIPLOMA AUDITION REPERTOIRE

applicants must prepare a program of no less
than 70 minutes duration, representing at least three style periods and
including at least two large-scale works
