Prescreen
is required for Regular Decision applicants in the following areas:
contemporary/CAM, jazz, flute, keyboard, tuba/euphonium, viola, and violin

Ibert, Martin, Hue, Hanson, or equivalent
- 2 contrasting orchestral excerpts of the
applicant's choice
Oboe
Select
two or three contrasting etudes or solos or movements from a concerto or sonata
which best demonstrate your technique and musicality. The following repertoire
is recommended, but similar works may be substituted:
- Etudes by Barret or Ferling.
- Mozart- “Concerto in C, K.314”
- Saint-Saens- “Sonata”
- Hindemith- “Sonata”
- Schumann- “Three Romances, op. 94”
- Britten- “Six Metamorphoses”
- Works from the Baroque period.
Saxophone
- One of the following works is suggested:
- Creston, “Sonata”, any two
movements including 2nd movement.
- Glazounov, “Concerto”
- Heiden, “Sonata”
Other
pieces or combinations of pieces from the standard repertoire, representing
comparable difficulty, may be substituted with prior approval.
