I am writing to you because I have a question to ask. My name is Kathleen Y. Kim from Korea and I am thinking about applying to your DMA program majoring in Piano performance. I tried to find the information from your school’s website, but I couldn’t do it; therefore, it will be greatly appreciated if you answer to my question at your earliest convenient time. My question is:
How many candidates apply for your DMA program in Piano performance and how many are generally accepted? If you can’t answer in exact number, please give me a rough idea.

Dear Ms Kim:
Thank you for your inquiry. I am not aware of the total number of applicants for the DMA program in Piano Performance. I can tell you that last year 20 of those applicants were approved for an on-campus audition (there is a pre-screening). We usually have three positions a year to offer incoming students, and all positions are supported with a graduate student assistantship.
