Dear Kathleen:

Thank you for your application for admission to the Bachelor of Music at New England Conservatory. Following our review of prescreening recordings, I am pleased to inform you that you have been selected to perform a live audition for the Piano Performance program at NEC. We are writing to provide you with preliminary audition information at this time. We will send additional information, including a specific audition time, closer to your actual audition date. For now, we hope that this information will allow you to make appropriate travel arrangements.

IMPORTANT: To confirm that you will be attending your audition as scheduled below, you must respond to this email and write Confirm and your name in the subject line.

We are sending this information via email and do not intend to mail a hard copy, so we suggest that you print and save a copy of this email for your records. If you are an international student, we would be happy to email a PDF version of this invitation to you at your request for your visitor visa interview.

Based on the information which you provided in your application, your audition will be scheduled between 9:00am and 2:00pm on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in the Jordan Hall building located at 290 Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02115. You will be required to check in one hour before your audition time.

Your audition will last approximately 15 minutes. Formal entrance exams in subjects such as music theory, keyboard skills, or solfège are not a part of our admission process. You are welcome to leave immediately after your audition is complete, but we certainly encourage you to explore NEC while you are here.

We have tried wherever possible to honor applicants first or second choice audition date preferences as listed on the application. If you have been scheduled for a day that you did not request, the most likely reason is that the faculty you selected as your teacher preference had limited availability during the audition period. As all available audition slots have been filled, it is extremely difficult to change audition dates or time segments. Should you be unable to keep your scheduled audition appointment, please immediately contact me by phone at (617) 585-1102 or email at julie.gregorio@necmusic.edu.

We are in the process of planning tours and other activities that will give you a better understanding of life at NEC. We urge you to make your travel plans to allow time to enjoy what the Conservatory and Boston have to offer. Some helpful links are listed below.

Sincerely,

Julie Gregorio
