2012년 9월 3일 개정된 2013년 Juilliard 입학요강의 Proof of English proficiency section 4에 의하면:
1 MM degree 응시자에게 요구되는 토플점수 89점에는 미치지 못하나 73점 이상의 점수를 획득한 수험생은 조건부입학이 가능하다고 명시하고 있습니다. 조건부입학으로 입학한 학생은 수업을 계속 수강하기 위해서는 첫 학기에 다음의 요건을 충족해야 합니다.
가) 첫 학기에 수강하는 영어과목과 음악관련 수업 (들)에서 B 학점 이상을 받아야 하고, 영어 교수님의 (수강을 계속해도 된다는) 추천이 있어야 합니다.
나) 모든 교실에서 행해지는 수업들과 공연수업에서 B 학점 이상을 받아야 합니다.
다) 가, 나의 요건을 충족하지 못할 때는 계속 수강을 못 하거나 Graduate Diploma Program으로 편입되어 나머지 학기들을 들어야 합니다.
라) 입학이 허가되었지만 토플점수 102점에 미치지 못하는 MM, GD 학생들은 첫 학기 오리엔테이션 중에 English Language Placement Exam을 치러야 합니다.
이상 (가, 나, 다)이 2012년 입시요강에 없던 2013년 입시요강에 첨가된 내용이었습니다. 참조하시라고 원문을 첨부합니다.
1. Applicants who submit TOEFL scores lower than 89 but greater than or equal to 73 may be considered for conditional admission to the Master of Music. Applicants admitted conditionally will be expected to meet the following requirements by the conclusion of the first semester of enrollment in order to qualify for continued status in the Master of Music program:
-- grades of at least "B" in the required English and/or Musical Terms class(es) and recommendation from the English faculty; and
-- grades no lower than "B" in all other performance and classroom studies
-- failure to meet the above conditions may result in either discontinuation of enrollment at Juilliard or transfer into the Graduate Diploma program for a second and final year of graduate study.
2. All admitted graduate students (M.M. and G.D.) with a TOEFL score below 102 iBT must also take the English Language Placement Exam during Orientation at the beginning of the fall semester.
