Hi, my name is Kathleen Y. Kim, prospective international MM applicant in flute performance from Korea. I am writing to you because I have a question on my live audition repertoire. In your live audition repertoire, you require:

1. Any sonata by J.S. Bach.

2. Mozart Concerto - complete.

3. Major contemporary work (complete sonata, concerto, or substantial work such as Dutilleux Sonatine, Jolivet Chant de Linos, Martin Ballade, or Sancan Sonatine).

4. Five Orchestral Excerpts displaying a variety of styles.

For your no. 2 requirement, I will perform Mozart concerto in G major K. 313. In this case, is cadenza included or not?  I know you are having a very busy time in these days, but it will be deeply appreciated if you answer to my question at your earliest convenience. Thank you very much.

Dear Kathleen,

Thanks for your email. You should be prepared to perform the complete concerto, including the cadenza. The faculty may not ask to hear it, but you should be fully prepared. Good luck!
