Composition Portfolio Information
l Required Composition portfolio materials must be submitted in both electronic and hard copy in advance of a scheduled audition.
l Submit electronic materials between September 14, 2018, and January 15, 2019, using the Shenandoah Conservatory online Audition

l Hard copy materials are to be mailed directly to the Office of Admissions.
Composition (MM)
l Baccalaureate degree in music with a minimum GPA of 2.5
l Curriculum Vitae/Résumé
l 100-word artist statement
l Two letters of recommendation from professionals in the field familiar with the applicant’s work
l Composition portfolio: Both electronic copy and hard copy of scores are required.
l Submit composition portfolio materials by January 15, 2019. Applicants should be aware that audition slots fill rapidly and early submission of portfolio materials is encouraged in order to secure an invitation for one of the limited number of audition slots.
l Scores and recordings for three recent compositions, showing skill in writing for instruments, voices and/or electronic media. At least
one of these works should be for large forces: orchestra, wind ensemble or other large ensemble.
l Scores should be uploaded in pdf format. Do not upload Finale or Sibelius files.
l Recordings (in .mp3 format) of live performances or reading sessions are preferred; MIDI mockups are also acceptable.
l All scores and recordings must be complete; arrangements and in-progress works will not be accepted. B. Hard Copy Score Materials
