Classical Guitar Audition Information

It is highly preferred that music is memorized, but it is not expressly required.

Classical Guitar (MM)

Video Prescreening (required): 

l  One movement of Bach (or equivalent Baroque composer, i.e. Scarlatti, Weiss, etc.)

l  One contrasting work from another period

Each prescreen selection may be recorded in a separate video. Upload and attach your video prescreening to the Butler School of Music application form and submit by December 1. Audio-only prescreening submissions do not qualify.

Audition (if invited):

l  Two contrasting works from other periods

Classical Guitar (DMA)

Video Prescreening (required):

l  Two movements of Bach (or equivalent Baroque composer, i.e. Scarlatti, Weiss, etc.), one slow and one fast

l  Two pieces from contrasting periods
