Piano Audition Information

Piano (BM)

Memorization required 

l  Major and harmonic minor scales, four octaves (live audition only) 

l  Prelude (prescreening & live audition) and fugue (live audition only) from Bach's  Well-Tempered Clavier  or similar contrapuntal Baroque work  

l  Sonata-allegro movement by Haydn, Mozart (excluding K.545), Beethoven (excluding Op. 49), or similar work from the classical period (prescreening & live audition) 

l  A work from the Romantic period (prescreening & live audition) 

l  A work from the Impressionistic period or a contemporary idiom by a major 20th- or 21st-century composer (live audition only) 

l  Sight reading, demonstrating moderate proficiency (live audition only)
