Strings Audition Information

 

 

 

 

 

 

Violin, Viola, Cello (MM)

​

 

Applicants are required to have an accompanist.  To obtain a list of available accompanists, please contact: Joann Kirchner at kirchner@temple.edu.

l  At least two movements from a Bach unaccompanied sonata, partita or suite

l  One movement from a Classical concerto or sonata

l  One movement from a Romantic concerto or sonata

l  One work from the Contemporary period.

String Pedagogy (MM)

 

l  At least two movements from a Bach unaccompanied sonata, partita or suite

l  One movement from a Classical concerto or sonata

l  One movement from a Romantic concerto, or a 19th or 20th century concert piece

 

 

Double Bass (MM)

 

 

Applicants are required to have an accompanist.  To obtain a list of available accompanists, please contact: Joann Kirchner at kirchner@temple.edu. 

 

l  3 octave scales through 4 sharps and 4 flats

l  3 contrasting solos from the standard repertoire

l  3 orchestral excerpts from the standard repertoire

 

 

Harp (MM)

 

 

 

 

l  Major concerto or sonata, i.e. Concerto in B flat by Handel, Sonata by Hindemith.

l  Work from the major harp repertoire, i.e. Impromptu by Faure, Scintillation by C. Salzedo

l  One solo work of applicant's choice

l  2 or 3 orchestral excerpts and/or cadenzas
