Voice Audition Information

 

 

Prescreening recordings are required for Cello, Clarinet, Composition, Double Bass, Flute, Guitar, Oboe, Orchestral Conducting, Organ, Piano, Trumpet, Viola, Violin, and Voice performance.

 

 

Prescreening recordings are optional for Bassoon, Collaborative Piano, Harp, Harpsichord, Horn, Timpani & Percussion, Trombone & Bass Trombone, and Tuba performance.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: (must be performed from memory)

 

Voice (MM)

 

  • Applicants must prepare four selections representing a variety of musical styles and periods in four languages (English, French, German, and Italian), one of which must be an operatic aria.
  • Each applicant performing live in Cleveland will be scheduled for 30 minutes of warm-up time immediately before the audition. At that time, the applicant will bring copies of the audition repertoire and meet with the pianist.

 

 

Voice (DMA, AD or PS)

 

  • Five selections in four languages (one each in English, French, German, and Italian) representing a variety of musical styles and periods; the fifth selection may be in any language of choice. Two of the five selections must be operatic arias.
