Voice Audition Information

Prescreen Repertoire


- All applicants for the voice concentration (undergraduate and graduate) must submit a preliminary audition recording via Acceptd. Based on this 

  prescreening, they may be invited to the required live audition. Voice applicants currently enrolled in a degree program at Mannes are not 

  prescreened.

 

- The recorded performance should be up to 30 minutes in duration and must consist of three works of contrasting style and language that meet 

  three of the audition repertoire requirements listed in the Auditions section below.

 

Audition Repertoire

 

-       One aria or art song in each language: Italian, German, French, and English (four songs; at least one selection must be an opera aria). At least one song or aria must be from a contemporary composition (written after 1970).

 

-       An additional selection in a fifth language may be presented at the applicant's discretion.

 

-       An additional work composed or arranged by the auditionee may be presented.
