Guitar Audition Information

Prescreen is required for Regular Decision applicants in the following areas: contemporary/CAM, jazz, flute, keyboard, tuba/euphonium, viola, and violin

Unless specified, prescreen requirements are the same as listed below.

• Major and minor scales (Segovia edition)
• The Giuliani 120 Studies for the Right Hand
• Two etudes by the following composers: Aguado, Brouwer, Carcassi, Giuliani, or Sor.
• A minor work by Milan, Bach, Tarrega.
• Sight-reading may also be required at the time of audition
• Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate knowledge of both apoyando (rest stroke) and tirando (free stroke).
